Whether you’re just starting or looking to sharpen your skills, this plan will help you stay on track and build confidence ahead of your UCAT exam.


Week 1: Get to Know the UCAT

Start by familiarising yourself with the test format and each section.

  • Read through the official UCAT website and understand the structure.
  • Watch a few overview videos on YouTube or UCAT prep platforms.
  • Try a short, untimed mock test to get a feel for the questions.
  • Begin light practice—around 30 minutes a day.

Week 3: Quantitative Reasoning

This section is all about numbers and speed.

  • Practise 15–20 questions a day.
  • Brush up on basic maths: percentages, ratios, averages, etc.
  • Do short timed drills to improve speed.
  • Get comfortable using the on-screen calculator.

Tip: Don’t get stuck—flag tough questions and move on.


Week 4: Abstract Reasoning

Pattern recognition is key here.

  • Practise 20 questions daily.
  • Learn to spot common patterns (shape, colour, position, movement).
  • Use decision trees for Set A/B questions.
  • Do timed drills to build speed.

Week 5: Situational Judgement

This section tests your judgement and ethics.

Week 6: Mixed Practice

Time to bring it all together.

  • Take two full-length mock tests under timed conditions.
  • Review your mistakes and refine your strategies.
  • Focus on your weakest areas.
  • Update your notes with key takeaways.

Week 7: Intensive Practice

Push yourself this week.

  • Take three full-length mock tests.
  • Review each one thoroughly.
  • Practise 100+ questions across all sections.
  • Make time for rest and recovery.

Tip: Stick to your routine and trust your preparation.


Week 8: Final Review

The finish line is in sight.

  • Take one or two final mock tests.
  • Do light revision—don’t cram.
  • Review your notes and strategies.
  • Prioritise sleep and wellbeing.
